Blu-ray video now available in Grand Caravan

Dodge calls this the end of “Are we there yet?”

The 2013 Grand Caravan is now available with a Blu-ray™ dual-screen video player on Crew and R/T models, an industry first.

The new video system, which promises four times greater image resolution, features a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) input to support the latest digital gaming systems. Also provided are a -115 volt power outlet, 12 volt outlet, RCA Jacks and two USB ports to power and recharge cell phones, laptops, and other mobile devices. It’s the ultimate in empowering your personal connectivity.

Naturally, the Blu-ray player can play both standard DVDs and Blu-ray discs. In a nutshell, a Blu-ray disc has the same 120-millimeter diameter and configuration as a traditional DVD disc. However, a blue laser is used to scan the disc (hence the name Blu-ray) instead of the red laser used in previous formats, allowing information to be stored in far greater density. The result? Greatly improved sound and image quality.

This system is currently offered by no other auto manufacturer, and is just one more example of how  Dodge, the inventor of the minivan, leads the field with more than 45 safety, security, and technology  features, Super Stow ‘n Go seating , and 5-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty.
