Melloy Dodge in Albuquerque is pleased to announce that the
news for the 2014 Ram 1500 just keeps getting better. Consumer Reports, the
leading consumer research publication, has just named the Ram 1500 as their top
pick in the truck category. “Since it’s Truck Month right now at Melloy Dodge,
with extra incentives on Rams, it’s an especially good time to test drive this
excellent truck,” said Bill Melloy, general manager for the Albuquerque Dodge
and Ram dealership.
Consumer Reports tested 260 vehicles and named just 10 as “Top
Picks”. Their assessment of vehicles will be published in the upcoming April
issue and combines road test scores from its staff, industry safety ratings and
predicted reliability ratings, and surveys of readers who report on vehicles of
various model years.
Ram is the first Chrysler-built vehicle in 16 years to win
the Top Pick in its category. General Motors and Ford both failed to place a
model in this year’s list. Consumer
Reports says the Ram’s “whisper-quiet” interior feels like a luxury vehicle,
calling it “the most comfortable-riding truck… surprisingly refined and
inviting.”
Ram was also named the Motor Trend Truck of the Year for
2013, taking back-to-back titles. That’s the first time any truck has been
named tops in consecutive years.
Ram 1500 offers a coil-spring rear suspension, unique for
full size pickups, which makes it a more comfortable ride than other makes. The
5.7-liter V8 and new eight-speed automatic transmission deliver effortless
power while maintaining a solid 15 mpg overall. Ram trucks also are renowned
for towing capacity.
