If you’ve purchased a vehicle from Melloy Dodge recently, you may be itching to put rubber to asphalt and take it on a road trip to get better acquainted with each other. Fortunately, there are many wonderful places to explore in New Mexico.

As New Mexicans, chile is in our hearts, our fields, and most of the meals we eat, so why not set out for Hatch, the Chile Capital of the World? Only two and a half hours from Albuquerque, it’s a pleasant distance for getting to know your new set of wheels. Once there, chow down on a delicious green chile cheeseburger from the eccentrically-decorated Sparky’s. Afterward, poke around town and stop by the Village of Hatch Museum.

There are plenty of things to do along the way, too. Wander around the placid waters of Elephant Butte Lake or Caballo Lake, have a relaxing soak in a hot spring in T or C, or take a scenic driving tour of the wildlife at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.

On the way back, stop in at the original Owl CafĂ© or Manny’s Buckhorn in San Antonio, NM for another juicy green chile cheeseburger. You can compare it to the one from Sparky’s, and check off another place or two on the New Mexico Green Chile Cheeseburger Trail map.

We know you’re excited to spend some quality time in your new Melloy Dodge vehicle, so hit the road, have fun, and be safe! And when it’s time for an oil change, stop by for our Express Lane Oil Change service, and we’ll keep the oil fresh for your next adventure.
