Melloy Dodge Sponsors 2018 Corrales Harvest Festival

Melloy Dodge, New Mexico’s #1 selling Dodge and Ram dealership, has for years included “Margo the chicken” in our TV commercials. A number of animals have actually been used in the commercials, but for some reason, viewers began asking regularly about Margo, and she appears in the commercials fairly often. Her "chicken handler" is on the set during filming to care for her (Margo has been so comfortable, she's even laid a few eggs in the dealership!)

So it made perfect sense for Melloy Dodge to sponsor the 2018 Corrales Harvest Festival, to be held Sept. 28-29 in the village of Corrales, just a few miles from the dealership’s location at 9621 Coors Blvd NW in Albuquerque. As part of that, we’re pleased to bring you a Poultry Fun Show, which is expected to have more than 50 birds entered in this year’s judging, as well as a Rabbit Fun Show.

“Melloy Dodge Farmland Experience” will bring the Poultry Show, Rabbit Show and Petting Zoo events together under one tent in the center of the festival. Entry will be from the south side of Corrales, near The Village Mercantile Home & Farm Store.

Winners in the poultry and rabbit shows will receive ribbons with the Melloy Dodge logo embossed, and visitors to the festival will be able to see and investigate RAM® trucks. The RAM brand offers many best-in-class features for trucks, and is frequently found as a heavy-duty work truck on farms, for towing, or for commercial business. The dealership currently has nearly 400 RAM trucks in-stock, with extra savings and incentives during RAM Power Days in September and October 2018.

Melloy Dodge has been serving the automotive needs of New Mexico families for more than 60 years. We hope to see you and your family, at the Corrales Harvest Festival, or just a few miles south of Corrales at the dealership as you shop for new or used cars, trucks or SUVs.

The Most Heavy Duty Trucks in New Mexico

If you’re in the market for a heavy duty pickup for work, for towing, or other purposes, you’ll want to shop Melloy Dodge in September and October 2018.

We are expecting an extra delivery of nearly 150 additional Ram trucks, particularly the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 models. This will mean that we will have nearly 400 trucks on the lot this month.
Ram trucks are known for their HEMI® engine, designed as a workhorse. A HEMI engine has less surface area, which means less heat loss, which translates to better combustion and fuel economy. Whether you’re looking for a gas or diesel engine, the Ram trucks have power to perform and offer many best-in-class designations versus competing makes.

The Ram 3500 offers best-in-class diesel towing as well as features to make life easier, like cargo-view camera and RamBox® Cargo Management System available. Rear auto-level air suspension is also available, and is class-exclusive in large trucks.

In addition to the huge inventory of Ram trucks, Melloy Dodge offers the region’s only Certified Ram Experts sales team; our staff has had additional training in trucks to help customers find the right one for their needs and customize it for their particular need.

With the Ram Power Days sales event underway, special financing and incentives are also available on these heavy duty trucks. To see which rebates and incentives you qualify for, contact one of our sales staff at 505-843-9600. If you’re truck purchase is for your business, you can reach our commercial sales team at 505-337-0630.

At Melloy Dodge in Albuquerque, we’ve been helping New Mexico drivers travel the roadways for more than 60 years. If we can help you with vehicle service or to find a new Dodge car or SUV, or one of hundreds of Ram trucks, shop our website at www.melloydodge.com or visit us at 9621 Coors Blvd. NW in Albuquerque, just north of Paseo del Norte.

A Preparedness Kit for your Vehicle

September is National Preparedness Month, so it’s a good time to plan for an emergency kit to carry in your vehicle. Here’s a list from the National Safety Council to keep in your car or truck:

In a small box or backpack, carry jumper cables; a flare or reflective triangle to warn approaching traffic; an ice scraper; extra cell phone charger for the car; a small tool kit or a multipurpose tool; flashlight with extra batteries; a first aid kit; drinking water; duct tape; and a plastic rain cover. Also, it’s important to have a properly inflated spare tire (not all vehicles today are sold with a spare, so check your car or truck!); a fire extinguisher; and cat litter or sand to improve tire traction on slippery spots.

If you drive in the winter or into remote areas, it’s also important to have a supply of non-perishable and high energy foods like nuts, dried fruits or hard candies. Be sure to check the batteries and replenish the food and water supply every few months.

Also, check that a list of family and emergency phone numbers are in your car, including those for your car insurance company and a local towing company. If you carry your registration and insurance card in your wallet (it’s recommended to not have them in your glove box so that if you vehicle is stolen, thieves don’t have easy access to your home address), then be sure to also take photos of them and keep on your cell phone.

Preparing for an emergency gives you peace of mind so that you can better deal with any roadside emergencies. At Melloy Dodge in Albuquerque, we’ve been helping New Mexico families travel the roadways for more than 60 years. If we can help you with vehicle service or to find a new Dodge or Ram truck, or if you’re in the market for a pre-owned vehicle, shop our website at www.melloydodge.com or visit us at 9621 Coors Blvd. NW in Albuquerque, just north of Paseo del Norte. And, be safe out there!
