Labor Day Car Sales Event

The days leading up to and following Labor Day Weekend are some of the biggest car shopping days of the year. Across the United States, four million auto shoppers say they plan to buy or are considering the purchase of a car, truck or SUV at a dealer’s sales event. One out of three plan to make that purchase during the late August to mid September dates.

So at Melloy Dodge in Albuquerque, we gear up for these days, knowing our customers expect extra sales incentives, and an easy purchase process. The manufacturer of Dodge and Ram vehicles has announced extra rebates for these days to maximize your savings with Special Bonus Cash Pricing!

The Melloy Dodge Sales Department will be open from 8am to 8pm, Monday-Saturday; 11am to 5pm on Sunday, Sept. 2; and 10am to 6pm on Monday, Sept. 3.

We’ve recently updated our website so that you may email directly (Get Your E-Price) from the listing page for all Ram 1500 trucks, for example, not just from a specific truck’s detailed listing page. It’s also easy to find your credit score (which will not impact your credit) from our website, and to get pre-approval for an auto loan. Buyers today can literally complete the purchase of a vehicle without coming to the dealership except for the test drive, financing paperwork, and delivery.

If you clicked on a digital ad for a specific model to arrive at the website, you’ll see any monthly incentives for that model in a graphic at the top of the page. With about 80 percent of all of our website traffic now coming from mobile devices, the MelloyDodge.com website is very mobile friendly!

The Melloy Dodge sales department will be open from 8am to 8pm during the weekdays around Labor Day Weekend, with additional staff to answer your questions. Our internet team, often the first contact for customers who call or email us, is staffed with experienced automotive salespeople who can answer questions about the extra incentives, financing, or trade in value on your vehicle.

Melloy Dodge is New Mexico’s #1 selling Dodge and Ram dealer, recognized for multiple years with the Customer First award from Fiat Chrysler Automotive. Visit our dealership at 9621 Coors Blvd NW in Albuquerque, north of Paseo del Norte near the Cottonwood Mall, or call us at 505-843-9600.

Hellcat: Charger versus Challenger

If you have the “need for speed”, you’ll find it in the Dodge Hellcat models! But what are the major differences between the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger Hellcats?

If you’re choosing one of these performance sports car models, it may come down to how many doors you want! The Dodge Challenger Hellcat offers a design faithful to the original 1970 racing model, complete with sleek looks, and many performance options including the 840 horsepower Demon edition (the most powerful street legal production car in the United States).

The Dodge Charger Hellcat option is the only four door muscle car available, with its Hellcat V8 option offering 707 horsepower. The Charger is the bigger of the two models, with an array of engine options for lots of power. In its Hellcat option, the aerodynamics of the Charger allow it to reach 200 mph.

Interestingly, gas mileage (23mpg average), torque (264 lb-ft @ 4,800 rpm), and transmission (automatic, 8 speed) are the same. They offer 3 year or 36,000 mile limited warranties, and NHTSA overall safety ratings of 5 stars. (Note however that driving 200 mpg does offer safety risks, and certainly won’t produce gas mileage of 23mpg!)

Hellcat models are limited, and industry experts say they’ll become collector’s edition vehicles. To see the Hellcats at Melloy Dodge, visit us at 9621 Coors Blvd. NW in Albuquerque, call us at 505-843-9600, or shop online at MelloyDodge.com.

Recommended Oil Change Frequency

It’s 2018. Vehicles have literally been around for over one hundred years. In that time, we’ve gone from cars, trucks and SUVs that have traditionally used gasoline and oil to fuel engines, to cars that you can plug into the wall and charge overnight.

A lot has changed in the last century.

But what effects have the last one hundred years meant for vehicles that still use combustion engines? In the past we’ve all heard from the national lube and tune-up companies, “You need to change your oil every three-thousand miles.” But is it true? What is the lifespan on oil in your vehicle? How can you tell if you really need to spend the time and money on an oil change?

Today, vehicle manufacturers’ process to build engines is far advanced than it was even a few decades ago.  Cars perform better, produce less exhaust and yes, use oil more efficiently. If you have visited the Melloy Dodge Express Lane for a no-appointment oil change or tire rotation, you most likely noticed that our service team leaves a new type of ‘oil change reminder’ on the windshield.

Depending on your vehicle, it may recommend up to 5,000 miles between oil changes or read “See Oil Light.” That’s because many vehicles can display and alert you when it’s time for any needed service, including oil changes.

Oil today is manufactured more efficiently too. In most instances, vehicles can get twice as many miles from a single oil change, compared to even ten years ago. It’s incredible how far oil and vehicle manufacturing has come

Of course, you always want to keep up to date with how your vehicle is performing. Not sure if you need an oil change? Check it yourself. All engines have a dip stick to check the quantity and color of your oil, so you can see if the oil is low or becoming very dark, signs that your car needs to be serviced. . Be sure, however, to always refer to your owner’s manual for your vehicle’s recommended service.

Drive in peace knowing your oil and vehicle are performing optimally. And when it’s time for an oil change, or when you have any automotive service questions, call the Melloy Dodge Service Department or visit the Melloy Dodge Express Lane, where no appointment is needed. We’re located at 9621 Coors Blvd NW in Albuquerque, just north of Paseo del Norte.
