After reviewing the manual, it would tell you that you can leave your truck in this setting, but it would negatively impact your fuel economy when used during regular driving times. Since gas prices are starting to increase drastically, utilizing the fuel you pay for is essential. Let’s talk about when to use your 4WD and the Auto feature. 

 4WD works to provide power from the transmission that equally distributes torque to the front and rear wheel axels, then to the wheels where the wheels must have traction. Typically your 4WD is used in situations where traction consists of a mixture of an acceptable amount of grip and low resistance areas. These areas can look like loose sand, loose rock-filled roads and hillsides, and even wet ground. It is also used when there is snow on the ground, either dirt or asphalt.

When driving in inclement weather conditions, using your 4WD Auto is ideal. This will give equal torque to all four axels and provide better traction to the road.
