Scenic Drives to Take this Fall in New Mexico

Fall is a perfect time to enjoy changing leaves and crisp air. New Mexico has many beautiful scenic drives, but a few are especially breathtaking in Fall. If you’re looking for inspiration for your next scenic drive, the Melloy Dodge team has some suggestions! Consider cruising along these country roads and byways this Fall.

1. Fourth of July Canyon: Fourth of July Canyon is found in the Cibola National Forest. This hidden gem in the Manzano Mountains is perfect for those who enjoy the Fall foliage.

2. Corrales Road: Corrales Road Scenic Byway offers impressive views in Fall with the changing of the golden cottonwoods.

3. Sandia Crest: Sandia Crest scenic byway is 14 mile stretch along NM 536 and curves through Cibola National Forest. This is a cruise you will want to repeat in all seasons!

4. Santa Fe National Forest: The drive down NM 475 through Santa Fe National Forest is perfect if you love a view of changing aspens and evergreens. Enjoy this 16-mile drive, and make sure to stop at the Aspen Vista overlook for some amazing views.

5. NM-17 from Chama to Colorado: NM 17 is where you will find the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. On your way to Colorado, cruise along this stretch of road and enjoy the changing of the leaves and some beautiful views.
